NY Giants Fail To Take A Snap In Saint Territory

Not that I'm the biggest National Football League fan around ( going to and attending college football games all day on Saturday leave me very little time the rest of the weekend to get anything accomplished), but I must say that the news that the New York Giants failed to take a snap in visiting New Orleans territory, in a 30-7 loss, is something that I can't quite comprehend. Not even in garbage time or with the aid of turnovers, a couple of factors that sometimes lead to increased yardage or great field position, did the men in blue cross the 50-yard line, with their only touchdown coming on a 55-yard touchdown pass in the first quarter, a pass from Eli Manning, who was 9 for 25 for only 74 yards, to Plaxico Burress.

Other horror numbers for Giants fans (yes, I'm thinking about you Colin): 142 total yards of offense, time of possession in favor of the Saints 40:34 to 19:26, 0 for 10 on third down conversions, 0 for 1 on fourth (makes sense, there's no need to go for it deep in your own territory until late in the game), plus the fact that the aforementioned touchdown grab by Burress was his only catch of the day.
