Mets Re-Sign Glavine (Step One To Dethroning The Cardinals, No Matter What Pujols Says)

Excellent news for Mets fans as free agent left-handed pitcher Tom Glavine has resigned with the Mets with a one year deal. Glavine proved to be the Mets most consistent pitcher, and his return is a great sign for a pitching staff that is still wondering about the status of Pedro Martinez' health. The New York Mets article on the signing noted that the team would be less likely to pursue free agent pitcher Barry Zito, who is the most appealing player out there, though his price tag would undoubtedly be very high.

Some nice words about the Mets organization, and the way they left Glavine to ponder his future with his family is also in the story.
