More Road Woes: Newcastle 3 Spurs 1

Now who can say that this match didn't promise a whole lot? Less than two days after a lengthy 1-0 Carling Cup match win over lower division Southend United , no Aaron Lennon and a warm-up injury to Jermain Defoe, visiting resurgent Newcastle, with all of the Spurs well-documented disastrous road performances this year?

Add some sloppy defending in the first half, poor work by Paul Robinson, plus Dimitar Berbatov working alone up front..........and voilá...........Spurs found themselves in a 3-1 deficit at the half. A much better defensive effort in the second half followed, but there was no offensive magic to be found from the rest of the beleaguered Spurs crew, with the end result being the same score as it was for the half. Yippee. Come On You Spurs.........take it out on Aston Villa on Boxing Day.
