Benayoun: We Played Like Drunks

Reading have done a wonderful job in their first season of the English Premiership, especially at home at the Madejski Stadium, where they've won 6 and drew one in the 11 EPL matches so far. The draw was a 1-1 affair with Manchester United, and the only lopsided loss on the sheet is a 4-0 drubbing at the hands, unfortunately, of the Arse. The latest victim was West Ham on Monday, being blasted to the tune of 6-0. All of the joy of Hammer fans in Upton Park when new manager Alan Curbishley guided them to an amazing 1-0 victory over the aforementioned Man U in his debut, replacing the deposed Alan Pardew, has long since been forgotten. They've scored just 1 goal in the three matches since, and the Hammers do lead the EPL with the largest number of scoreless efforts, 12 matches all told.

An explanation has now come from Hammers midfielder Yossi Benayoun, who has stated that "we played like a bunch of drunks" in their woeful effort on New Year's Day. Sometimes, these things just happen right, even to the best teams, and Curbs is one of the most talented managers around.............oh wait, it's the Hammers.....never mind. Hope you enjoyed your stay in the Premiership this year.
